November is Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American Heritage Month! Originally a week-long celebration started in 1986, Native American Heritage Month has turned into a month of recognizing and celebrating the significance of Native people. This has also become an opportune time to educate other about the rich culture and traditions, history, and accomplishments of Native Americans, as well as raise awareness for the, past and present, challenges they face.

Cayuse is proud to be a tribally owned company and a representative of Native Americans in the world of commerce. Co-founded by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR), Cayuse is committed to supporting and aiding the members of our Tribe financially and educationally through job opportunities, donations, and programs like the Cayuse Apprenticeship Program. Cayuse continues to uphold the heritage and values of Native people.

You can learn more about Cayuse and the CTUIR history here and here. You can also follow the links below for some zoom learning opportunities presented Blue Mountain Community College and to watch a TV news story featuring our community members.
